Anual Block Party is Sunday, August 18th, 1-4 p.m

Mark your calendars! The 2024 Sherwood Forest block party will be held on Sunday, August 18th from 1 -4 p.m.

We had another great turn out last year and look forward to seeing all of you again this year. For those of you who haven’t attended in the past, it’s fun event that gives us a chance to meet and reconnect with our neighbors.

We are going to try something different this year and encourage donation for the event in advance. This gives us a better idea of the things we can afford (for example we are considering renting a Porta-Potty, getting more games, etc). If anyone would like to make a donation to help with food and entertainment, you can do so by sending a check to:

Sherwood Forest Community Club

P.O. Box 7344

Bellevue, WA 98008-1344

We also accept either Venmo or credit/debit card transfers via PayPal. Please specify the funds are for the Sherwood Forest Block Party. For more information email us at SFCCbellevue@hotmail.com

Thank you in advance for your support.

Thank you to all our outgoing directors, especially Lee Sargent for his leadership the last 4 years. A lot was accomplished during that time. Luckly, he will continue to be an important part of SFCC leadership as part of the emergency preparedness committee. If you missed the event, you can find the 2023 annual meeting presentation and minutes in our community section.

Sherwood Forest Entrance Signs – Artist Dudley Carter

The Sherwood Forest signs at the corners of NE 24th/160th Ave. and NE 30th/164th Ave. were carved in the 1960s, specifically for the Sherwood Forest neighborhood by world renowned Northwest wood carver Dudley Carter. Mr. Carter was a Sherwood Forest neighbor who lived off Bel Red Road where the southern portion of the Microsoft campus is now located. The Sherwood Forest signs need yearly cleaning and maintenance during the summer, so any SFCC member donations directly noted for the “sign fund” would be greatly appreciated.

SFCC officials wanted

Dear neighbor:

SFCC will have its annual meeting next month (official announcement and invitation soon) and one of the key events is the election of officials for the next cycle.

We invite you to volunteer and/or nominate people for ANY board or committee positionpresident, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, trustee or committee member.

We are always looking for new and diverse ideas in the SFCC board. We have had amazing success in the last few years thanks to new members joining the board and volunteering their time to the community. Bring your ideas and energy to make SFCC an even better place to live.

Take a look at the board positions and committees available for you to participate/nominate. These nominations will be part of the annual ballot and election at our annual meeting.

Please share this information with your neighbors as not everyone may be aware of these possibilities.

Note that in order for us to include the nominations in the ballot we must receive them by September 30th. Voting will happen at the annual meeting.

Please reach out to SFCC with any nomination by emailing sfccbellevue@hotmail.com
